Lakes Wildcamping

This a bit out of date, relating to the weekend before Snow & Ice but as my internet had ceased to function this is the first oppourtunity to write about it I've had.

Friday evening went down to Johnny's house for a party (Parent's in Venice), ended up drinking far too much vodka and staggering home at some god-forsaken hour with Tom and Kim.

Up the next morning to pack stuff and sort food. Emma and Tom descended on my house before we were picked up by Carrington. Headed to the M6, first by Steph's who had acquired my Vaporise from the weekend before and then via Tesco in leyland for Cornetto's as the weather was fabulous! Shorty after we got on the motorway I got a phonecall from my parents saying that I'd left my wallet in Tesco car park and some man had found it....doh.... good job he was decent enough to return it!

Arrived at Langdale just before 2pm and set off up Stickle Gill in superb weather, reached the tarn and decided to have a crack at Jack's rake due to the stunning views, dry rock and lack of climbers to dislodge rocks onto our heads! First scrambling both Emma and Tom had done, both threm themselves into it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Topped out everybody buzzing and wondered over to the summit of Pavey Ark in T-shirts to bask in the few remaining moments of sunlight.

As the sun set headed over to raise and found a nice campsite just off the col, threw up tents and then cooked tea, muchness of nice pasta filled with meat. We'd taken a party tent (Hyperspace) so sat around for a few hours in there cracking jokes and recounting old tales. Eventually fell aslseep around midnight.

Woke to a cloud inversion all arounf us, more stunning views. Has breakfast and then dropped tents and headed up to Raise for an awesome panorama of all of the Lakes. Probably the best views i've ever had up there. Could see everything from Blencathra and Skiddaw in the North, The Gables, Scafell massif, Coniston Old Man, Wetherlam and even to the far south the Trough of Bowland. STUNNING!

Plan was the bang out the rest of the Langdale pikes before meeting the network ramble late afternoon at Angle Tarn. That's exactly what we did, took some nice scambling line up Harrison Stickle and Pike and played around of Loft Crag soloing for a bit in the sun aswell.

Met the Network party (Ash, Lewis, Stubbs, Speakman, Smiler, Emma, Chris) at Angle Tarn soon asfter 3 and descended rosset gill down to the old hotel with them to grap a drink in the bar and then say goodbyes.

Managed to get a lift in the back of Speakman's Van to the new hotel where are car was and then start the journey back. Managed to scare Carrington shitless of the journey back by clipping the two jumpleads attached to his spare car battery together while we were on the motorway causing uber-sparking... much fun.

As we were taking Emma back to Southport we thought it was only fitting to stop in a Nandos for some chicken, then back to Tarleton to drop Tom of and then take tents and other kit back to Dicks, to besd at some late our totally un-prepared for college the next day!

Little boys who play with electrics are liable to get a shock, or at the very least GET SCREWED FOR THE COST OF A NEW CHARGER IF THIS ONE IS BUGGERED.
Beware thy sins will find thee out Matthew
